Hey Leanne, a lot of new great canvasses/snowboards you have there. Great site!
But, where is that painting you had on there before the site was finished? The one with the total red background. That one was fantastic as a site opener!

Anyways... Good luck with your ambitions!

Unfortunately Philadelphia is a little too far from Minneapolis, but otherwise I would have loved to see your exposition. Good luck, may you have a ton of spectators! Thu 17-Nov-2005 13:49

Every time I see your new posts, I am just speechless. I can't honestly think of one single negative comment. The originality of your work is phenomenal. Wed 26-Oct-2005 02:38

Hi, Lee-B... very nice work, as always. The little purple monster in the last couple pics makes me think of "Boo" from Monsters Inc. I show my students your work, and I've also shared this link with one of the art teachers here. They all think you're phenom, too! <3 Lisa Thu 27-Oct-2005 13:57

I'm with Nico -- you are fab! The closeups should help remind anyone that there are thousands of brush strokes in there. The subtlety of shading and color graduations and your mastery of them are what make your work so appealing. Wed 9-Nov-2005 19:59

heaven and hell

so for this assignment we had to depict heaven and hell in 2 seperate paintings but with out using the normal devils and fire for hell and clouds and angels for heaven. so we could pretty much do anything we wanted to do that... and this is what i did... and this comes from when i first got my bird it was really annoying and hard at night to get him in his cage so i could go to bed and my friends said i should get his wings cliped but i just couldn't do that. god gave him the gift of flight and to take that away or even make it difficult for him to fly i just couldn't do (especaily since when i was a kid all i ever wished for was to fly) so since i have had him for a few months now i have trained him to go in and out his cage on his own and he knows (almost all of the time) when its time for bed he knows and goes in and chirps at me. so anywho these are my peices on heaven and hell. man who normally can't fly have been given the gift of flight but in hell he is stuck in a cage and can't use his gift. and in heaven he gets to use it to fly all over the city. let me know what you think.

HEY LEE-BEE, I LOVE THESE 2. BUT MOST OF ALL, I LOVE THE BACKGROUND IN "HEAVEN". HIS FACE IN "HELL", IS MOST EXPRESSIVE! HERE'S MY HOLLYWOOD SMILE AGAIN! MOM-BEE Sun 25-Sep-2005 22:38

What I think? Man, I am amazed!!! Your interpretation and the eventual painting are absolutely fantastic! I love the reddish colors and yes, the faces speak volumes.
All I can say is very well done. Also your other paintings on this page are so beautiful. I am sure that if you would like to, you could sell these to a lot of people for a good price. And you're "just" a student? I'm sure there is a lot more to come.

so besides my normal studio classes im also taking children's book illustration. and our first assignment was to illustrate with one picture a fable called "The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse"... so here is the fable: " A town mouse and a country mouse were acquaintances, and the country mouse one day invited his friend to come and see him at his home in the fields. The town mouse came, and they sat down to dinner of barleycorns and roots, the latter of which had a distinctly earthy flavor. The fare was not much to the taste of the guest, and presently he broke out with "My poor dear friend, you live here no better than the ants. Now, you should just see how i fare! My larder is a regular horn of plenty. You must come and stay with me, and I promise you you shall live on the fat of the land." So when he returned to town he took the country mouse with him, and showed him into a larder containing flour and oatmeal and figs and honey and dates. The country mouse had never seen anything like it, and sat down to enjoy the luxuries his friend provided: but before they had well begun, the door of the larder opened and some one came in. The two mice scampered off and hid themselves in a narrow and exceedingly uncomfortable hole. Presently, when all was quiet, they ventured out again; but someone else came in, and off they scuttled again. This was too much for the visitor. "Good-bye," said he, "Im off you live in the lap of luxury, I can see< but you are surrounded by dangers; whereas at home I can enjoy my simple dinner or roots and corn in peace.".... and so here is my illustration of that fable...

hey soo yeah as i said in the last entry ive been pounded with work this symester right off the bat and i just finished another one .. so here ya go.. this one is about an article that our teacher gave us about how they found this new method of relieve back pain by injecting the backbone with cement. its a really weird process and they arne't sure why it works or anything anywho here is my illustration about it... enjoy

"Fractures of the vertebrae -- the bones of the spine -- are relatively common in people with osteoporosis and spinal tumors, but few treatment options are available. Vertebroplasty is a relatively new procedure in which a special cement is injected into weakened or collapsed vertebrae to harden the bone. The cement used, polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), has been used to reconstruct bone during surgery for at least 20 years."
Not quite the same stuff as concrete used in sidewalks!

so school has started once again.. my last year man thats scary! sure went fast... but its sure off to a hell of start we had to do a full color illustration start to finish sketches to finish in one week. which was pretty rediculus! but anywho here it is ... its about new orleans and the flood and how i feel even if new orleans is no longer it will still live on through its music. its jazz music. also there is a tattoo that i drew up for my friend johnny my friend who is helping me build my new website. he hasn't gotten it on him yet but when he does ill put that up. anywho i hope you enjoy... -leanne

Hey Lee-Bee, Dad and I think this is an amazing piece! The face of the United States has been forever changed, perhaps. But, you are right, it will live on through it's music. Keep up the grrrrreat work! We are so proud of you! It has been so much fun to watch your artistic skills grow over these last 3 years. Sat 10-Sep-2005 17:01
